On 23 of March, 2011 my friend and I went to visit Angkor Wat. Do you believe or not that I say it is the first time for me to see Angkor Wat . When I first sight Angkor Wat I feel it was great, wonderful, and very impressive. It is hard to think about that time. How can the people at time build this great temple up. What did they use to help them in building it. We walk around the temple with a happy mind. As the monk it is not too easy for us to take a trip around it. On that day we did not have lunch. We have only water.
At 12 o 'clock we arrived at Angkor Toch(the small Angkor). We walk around for a while, then we take a sit in front of it. There I met one guy from China. He is 25 years old. I asked him " what do you think about Angkor?". " It is amazing" he replied to me. Then I continued "what do you think about Cambodia before you come here?" He said " yeah, at first I was afraid, because some people told me that in Cambodia is unsafe. But when I enter this country it does not look like what they say at all." We talked for a while, and then I left him. I can see many foreigners almost everywhere in the Angkor Wat campus. When they see the monk it seems strange to them. They ask them to take a photo. When I walk at the east site of Angkor Toch there was one man who is from U.S.A, but now he lives in Vietnam. He ask my friend and me to take a photo. So after he took the photo, and then he took out his money from his pocket and give it to us. It was on dollar. We reject it. I said our photo is not for one dollar, but for nothing. I express my feeling that we are so happy, and welcome to your visiting here. Of course comming here you have to pay the money for some reason, but it does not mean you have to pay for everything. Then we were have a short converstion before we left each other. In my thought, I want to show this to all people that Cambodia is not like what they think. It is not like the market at all. It is true that something may cost you a lot of money, but it is only the material things. For the inner thing it is free for you all. My smiling, my Cambodian heart, and the warmly friendship are free for you. I want to tell to the world how Cambodia and Cambodian look like.
I am very happy when I saw many foreigners come to visit Cambodia. I still believe that the more they come the more the world will know about Cambodia.
