Dark side of Whitenning Cream

After the dead tired day from school yesterday, I took a rest for a while on my bed. Few hours has gone away, I woke up and turned on my computer. Normally, I’d like to check my email, read some news, and listen to my favorite songs. There are many problems are happening in the world right , and so in Cambodia, the political, land concession issues, health care, and the natural disaster....etc. Oh my Buddha! It is such a bad thing and I would say sorry to those victims in my country. I always wanted to write everything about my country in one post, so people can come and read it easily in my blog. But I can’t do it. It seems to be so long, and it will make people headache to read such a horrible writing as I did. So to make my essay a bit shorter and I don’t want you to be crazy with it, I will write only one matter in this post. But, before we get in there, I am sure you all have read the story above. It all about the dark side of whitening creams which mean people who used the whitening may give them two effectives result to them. It may make them younger and more attractive to the others, and it may also make them look older and uglier than their age.

In Cambodia, for these recently years, people seemed to have more desire on their beauty. I can see many girls are getting more beautiful and cuter than the last decades. They look so hot, and most of them began to wear such sexy clothes as they have a softly and lovely skin. Mostly, this thing would concern about women and transsexual women. But for me, I think it is not only for the women. Right now, there are a lot of products available for men to make up their bodies as well. I have one experience when I was at work with my friends (male friend not females). They bought many kinds of skin protector powders (I am sorry I don’t know how to use this word more correctly, but it is kind of powder that we use to dab on our face). Then they mix them all up by themselves. They dab it on their face all the night. At first it seems to give them a good work, I mean their face became more whiten and younger. But later on, it seems they get into the wrong way. Soon later, there are a lot of black spots or we called acnes appear on their face. Moreover, it is getting worse and worse than their old face. They look uglier and much older, and it is really embarrassing them. Some of them don’t even dare to get out of their room. It is luckily for me that I didn’t use it. Because at that time I got an idea that I would use it unless I saw what is going to happen with my friends. I dare to say that it is really dangerous for us for using anything without getting any advices from doctors or counselors.

In Cambodia, we imported most of the goods, especially about cosmetic section, from the neighbor countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and China. There are many cosmetic surgery shops across the country. The people are concerning about their own beauty. They may think they are out of date if they don’t make up their bodies. In the same time, they would do anything to make them more confident on themselves or more civilize in the society. Many people got the acceptable pay back on what they have been doing, because they have been discussed with doctors or counselors before they use it. But there also a large numbers of people who were disappointed after they use, and what we can way to them was sorry to hear that.

Sometimes, we cannot do anything beyond the nature. I mean, the nature has given us a lot in what we have now. Why don’t we just thank to the nature? There are something we can change, and something we can’t. As the proverb “the bad and good are couple”. So where there is a bad, there must be a good. But many people seem to be more biases on the good side and neglect the bad side. This happened because people did not let themselves to see the worldly or the universes as they really are. They just concern too much in what we called “egoism”. If we close our eyes for a moment, and take a deeply look into real world, to see the people around us. There you will see how many people were lucky as you are. Some of them don’t even have limbs; they are blind; they are deaf; they are dumb, and some of them are more ugly than you are (I am sorry to use this word). So now, open your eyes slowly and look into the mirror. Then examine yourself carefully, give a smile to it, and say I love you, try think how many people were not be able to look their own face, because they are blind, and how many of them were not be able to wash their own hair or even their feet, because they lost their limbs since they were born. When you think this way the idea of “egoism” will fade away from your mind, and your greedy of beauty will slowly getting away. It does not mean we don’t need to do something to ourselves in order to look better, but we have to be careful in doing it. I believe my words will not make any sense to anyone who read this post, but I believe it may awake some of us to think about ourselves much more. We cannot live in this world forever; we were born, get old, sick and die (the teaching in Buddha). One can live in a happy life even they are not beautiful, but one can’t live as a happy life if they don’t have the inner beauty or morality in their mind.

I am so moved by the last sentence of this post, " One can live in a happy life even they are not beautiful, but one can’t live as a happy life if they don’t have the inner beauty or morality in their mind." That is so true, but sometimes, we forget that because we want to "keep up" with modern society.

I have been guilty of not loving the natural colour of my skin, I wanted to become fairer, and used those whitening creams. The good news is: I didn't get any of those horrible reactions but the bad news is: I didn't get any fairer *hahaha*. So I eventually stopped, it was pointless. And learned to accept my natural colour. And guess what, I love the skin I'm in. Never again will I try to change what God has given me.

I hope a lot of people read your post, you writing is really good. By the way, I have tagged you in my post, Play The 7 Link Challenge. I hope you drop by and do your own ;)

All the best,
